The Smart-AVI KLX-500 Chainable DVI/VGA KVM Extender from Smart-AVI consists of the KLX-TX500 Transmitter and KLX-RX500 Receiver. A single extender extends DVI/VGA, KVM, and IR signals up to 500' via LAN. However, multiple extenders can be chained to generate thousands of feet of DVI/VGA, KVM, and IR signal extension, breaking distance barriers. Users can set up their own extension cabling or utilize the pre existing LAN infrastructure they have access to.
The KLX-500 DVI/VGA KVM Extender uses compressed data to utilize Cat5e/6 cables, but users will see no degradation of signal when using one Gigabit Internet connections and up. For users utilizing pre-existing LAN connections, implementing a one Gigabit switch allows for full resolution extension. Users with lesser bandwidth will experience compressed signals, if they choose.
With no software or driver required, users can easily extend DVI/VGA, KVM, and IR signals over IP. The KLX-500 Extender supports up to Full HD 1080p video at 60 Hz, and can be controlled with an IR remote control (not included). The transmitter and receiver are compact units that are suitable for use in pre-configured work environments.
